The spirit of Bayanihan was alive and well at the Daiichi Community’s recent Bayanihan Bites community fair. Held on June 6th at The Finance Centre, the event overflowed with Filipino warmth and welcomed neighbors from surrounding communities.
Attendees enjoyed a lively mix of festive games, testing their skills in Archery, Can Smash, Hoop Shoot, Ring Toss, and the Shooting Gallery. Each game offered a chance to win tickets, which could be redeemed for exciting prizes at the prize booth.
We also had a delicious street food corner featuring classic Filipino treats like Fishball and Kwek-Kwek, Taho, Sorbetes, Ice Scramble, and refreshing Samalamig. Proceeds from the street food corner went directly to support Rural Rising Philippines, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Filipino farmers and rural communities.
The fair’s highlight was the heartwarming “Box-All-You-Can” initiative. Partnering with Rural Rising Philippines, attendees were able to “rescue” surplus fresh fruits and vegetables by filling boxes. This innovative approach provided everyone with high-quality produce while positively impacting the lives of Filipino farmers. Furthermore, in collaboration with Rural Rising, we also donated boxes of fruits and vegetables to some less privileged local community in Barangay Tatalon in Quezon City, ensuring an even wider reach of the initiative’s benefits. The event was further graced by the presence of a special guest, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who came to lend his support and share in the festivities.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Rural Rising Philippines for this incredible initiative and also to all who participated in making the Bayanihan Bites fair a success. Your enthusiasm and support made the event truly special.
